Halloween Muffins - Monstrous Spiders
Ingredients
- Flour "00": 120 gr
- Butter: 120 gr
- Sugar: 120 gr
- Eggs: 2
- Strong coffee mamis Gran Crema: half espresso cup (liquid coffee)
- mamis Chocolate powder: 20 gr + 30 gr
- Dark chocolate: 80 gr
- Baking powder: 4 gr
- Icing sugar: 150 gr
- Liquorice wheels: 10
Preparation
Muffins: In a mixing bowl mix, flour, 20g of Mamis chocolate powder and baking powder. In the meantime, melt the dark chocolate in a water bath and keep it aside. In bowl and with the help of an electric whisker, whip the softened butter and sugar, add the eggs and half a cup of Mamis Gran Crema coffee previously cooled. With the help of a whisk stir the mixture until lamp free. Fold into the mixture the flour, cocoa powder and yeast, previously mixed together. Mix well until the dough is smooth, then fill the muffin moulds and cook them in the oven preheated at 180° for about 15-20 minutes. Once cooled, your muffins will be ready to be decorated.
Decoration: In a bowl, sieve 30g of Mamis chocolate powder and icing sugar. Slowly add boiling water and stir with a spatula until you get a smooth and frosting mix. Unroll the liquorice wheel and cut into strips of approx. 4 cm, open it in two. With a toothpick, make 4 holes on each side of the muffin and insert the liquorice strips, making them become the 8 legs of the spider. First cover the surface of the muffin with the frosting mix and top with chocolate sprinkles. Place two edible sugar eye bowls on the muffin, and your monstrous spiders are ready...
